We went to the Lima South mission and walked around as real missionaries. The area seemed middle class area since there were parks in the middle of the homes. Not sure if this is in other areas in Lima but everyone here has a normal one story house then they are all currently being featured on "property brothers" the HGTV show (we would watch this show at home) because they are adding a second story made of brick. Everyone has started this second story on their homes, but no one has finished......just an observation.
So my district from the MTC all went on splits with real Actual Missionaries and a priest age young man. but they ran out of full time missionaries by the time they called Elder Edwards and myself so I went with a Stake President and a convert member of 3 years. We were reactivating and they spoke no English and oh my, they talk so fast and they were all looking at me since I was the only missionary with them and they wanted me to use my Spanish. I'm like ´´oh hey so uh I've only been in the MTC for 3 weeks and barely can speak this Spanish language and yeah´´ so literally when they looked at me I testified because I had no idea what else to do.
We went to a guy in a little brick garage and had a good talk, a mom and a son who had a temple picture on the wall and the mom said, ´´the paper is wrong because my son is super active´´ so there was no re-activating in that home. Then we visited a lady and her daughter. Her daughter. smelled like movie theaters cause it smelled like cigarettes and that's what I think of so I guess I'll be thinking about movie theaters a lot on my mission :) then with that family the stake president was Testifying and here is what I thought he said ´´there was a door and it was 90 feet but 10 feet and it had really loud noices´´ then he started crying and I was so confused... so guys I clearly need some help with Spanish.. I can speak but can't comprehend what is being said. Not sure what I am going to do when I leave in two weeks.
We watched the movie, mountain of the lord on Sunday and I'm, so excited to go to the Temple next week!! The Lima temple opens back up . We then watched a devotional by Elder Bednar which everyone says is the best and it is so I might send it to you if its not against the rules........ then last night we watched Elder Quinton L Cook which pointed out that the main message of the
Resurrected Lord is missionary work and hinted that we are the only church fulfilling that as much as we can. I love you guys! Food is great and everyone is so nice and our new room is awesome I love it. I love you all!!!! Elder Foutz
