I'm glad you had a good Christmas! thanks for the pics! all the games and stuff looked like so much fun!
Ok So my letter. This week was fantastic!
On Tuesday we had interviews with President and we learned on thing. We need to be finding new people to teach! We only had 4 new investigators our previous week and President talked with us about faith. In the CCM I learned how yes, faith is not a perfect knowledge of things etc. from Alma Ether and Corinthians but a definition of faith in Jesus Christ is different and more specific. It is a trust in the Will of God. It is somethings I have really felt more and more recently. While we are walking in the streets I have prayed with faith in a different way than I ever have before. Its kinda goes like ´´I know that it is you will to find people so according to that, please put people in the streets´´ and you would be surprised sometimes the miracles we can see from that.
It is a little different here because my only purpose is the same as our Heavenly Fathers purpose. But I know it is and will be different back home. But it is awesome that I have this time here to work with and trust in the Lord.
We had mission Christmas Party on Wednesday, nice to see elder Madder, Vorhees and Turley from my group.
Things about Christmas: First off, Marry late Christmas everyone.
So here is Lima Christmas. This is in first person as if I'm a mother with a husband and two kids. you will see why I chose this perspective.
So at about December 1st we put up the lights on my house. They sing really loud jingle bells and other Christmas songs. Because I want to show that I'm fancy, I'll put up two sets of lights and turn on the music capability on both so that they combine into a soothing minor ring. I then put up a Christmas tree. It has a ladder for Santa to put the star on on Christmas night. Then I make the nativity set with construction paper and glass figurines. We put Christ in at midnight on the 24th, because he was born then and at no other time according to my beliefs. Then I make snowmen out of felt. I make maybe up to three and sell as many as I can and sell them with my chupetes (a frozen otter pop thing that literally every house makes and sells, I don't know how they have a business with those or with selling snowmen because everyone sells the same things. On Christmas Eve we eat dinner at 1130 with our fruitcake and hot chocolate even though its burning outside. We love our gloria fruit mmmmmmmhhhhmmmmmm. At 12 midnight exactly we open presents that we bought and wrapped that day with the whole family and shoot off many, many many illegal fireworks. We'll then go to parties til four am and my husband stays drunk with his guys friends or maybe his family.
Sorry that was long but that was my experience. I was having just a party in the bathroom when the fireworks were going off and I thought I was dying from an atomic bomb. It was crazy.
Anyway, here is one last thing spiritual, I have loved the scriptures in English (sorry I'm biased) when there are little wordings or phrases that are very individual. each page has them!
Thank you So much for the prayers. I'm praying for you! Love you all!
Elder Foutz
